Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image, and more recently, video advertisements on their websites. These advertisements are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis. Google is also currently beta-testing a cost-per-action based service.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Overview&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Google uses its Internet search technology to serve advertisements based on website content, the user's geographical location, and other factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google's targeted advertisement system may enroll through AdWords. AdSense has become a popular method of placing advertising on a website because the advertisements are less intrusive than most banners, and the content of the advertisements is often relevant to the website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Currently, AdSense uses JavaScript code to incorporate the advertisements into a participating website. If the advertisements are included on a website that has not yet been crawled by the Mediabot, AdSense will temporarily display advertisements for charitable causes, also known as public service announcements (PSAs). (The Mediabot is different from the Googlebot, which maintains Google's search index.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Many websites use AdSense to monetize their content. AdSense has been particularly important for delivering advertising revenue to small websites that do not have the resources for developing advertising sales programs and salespeople. To fill a website with advertisements that are relevant to the topics discussed, webmasters implement a brief script on the websites' pages. Websites that are content-rich have been very successful with this advertising program, as noted in a number of publisher case studies on the AdSense website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some webmasters invest significant effort into maximizing their own AdSense income. They do this in three ways:[citation needed]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; 1. They use a wide range of traffic-generating techniques, including but not limited to online advertising.&lt;br /&gt; 2. They build valuable content on their websites that attracts AdSense advertisements, which pay out the most when they are clicked.&lt;br /&gt; 3. They use copy on their websites that encourages visitors to click on advertisements. Note that Google prohibits webmasters from using phrases like "Click on my AdSense ads" to increase click rates. The phrases accepted are "Sponsored Links" and "Advertisements".[citation needed]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The source of all AdSense income is the AdWords program, which in turn has a complex pricing model based on a Vickrey second price auction. AdSense commands an advertiser to submit a sealed bid (i.e., a bid not observable by competitors). Additionally, for any given click received, advertisers only pay one bid increment above the second-highest bid.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;History&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The underlying technology behind AdSense was derived originally from WordNet, Simpli (a company started by the founder of Wordnet, George A. Miller), and a number of professors and graduate students from Brown University, including James A. Anderson, Jeff Stibel, and Steve Reiss.[1] A variation of this technology utilizing WordNet was developed by Oingo, a small search engine company based in Santa Monica founded in 1998 by Gilad Elbaz and Adam Weissman.[2][3] Oingo changed its name to Applied Semantics in 2001,[4] which was later acquired by Google in April 2003 for US$102 million.[5]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;AdSense for Feeds&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In May 2005, Google announced a limited-participation beta version of AdSense for Feeds, a version of AdSense that runs on RSS and Atom feeds that have more than 100 active subscribers. According to the Official Google Blog, "advertisers have their ads placed in the most appropriate feed articles; publishers are paid for their original content; readers see relevant advertising—and in the long run, more quality feeds to choose from."[6]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;AdSense for Feeds works by inserting images into a feed. When the image is displayed by a RSS reader or Web browser, Google writes the advertising content into the image that it returns. The advertisement content is chosen based on the content of the feed surrounding the image. When the user clicks the image, he or she is redirected to the advertiser's website in the same way as regular AdSense advertisements.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;AdSense for Feeds has remained in its beta state until August 15, 2008, when it became available to all AdSense users.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;AdSense for search&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A companion to the regular AdSense program, AdSense for search, allows website owners to place Google search boxes on their websites. When a user searches the Internet or the website with the search box, Google shares any advertising revenue it makes from those searches with the website owner. However the publisher is paid only if the advertisements on the page are clicked: AdSense does not pay publishers for mere searches.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;AdSense for mobile content&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;AdSense for mobile content allows publishers to generate earnings from their mobile websites using targeted Google advertisements. Just like AdSense for content, Google matches advertisements to the content of a website — in this case, a mobile website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;XHTML compatibility&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As of September 2007, the HTML code for the AdSense search box does not validate as XHTML, and does not follow modern principles of website design because of its use of&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; * non-standard end tags, such as &lt;/img&gt; and &lt;/input&gt;,&lt;br /&gt; * the attribute checked rather than checked="checked",&lt;br /&gt; * presentational attributes other than id, class, or style — for example, bgcolor and align,&lt;br /&gt; * a table structure for purely presentational (i.e., non-tabular) purposes,1 and&lt;br /&gt; * the font tag.2&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1: using a table structure for unintended purposes is strongly recommended against by the W3C[citation needed], but nevertheless does not cause a document to fail validation—there is currently no algorithmic method of determining whether a table is "correctly" used.&lt;br /&gt;2: the font tag is deprecated but does not fail validation in any XHTML standard.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Additionally, the AdSense advertisement units use the JavaScript method document.write(), which does not work correctly when rendered with the application/xhtml+xml MIME type. The units also use the iframe HTML tag, which is not validated correctly with the XHTML 1.0 Strict or XHTML 1.0 Transitional DOCTYPEs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The terms of the AdSense program forbid its affiliates from modifying the code, thus preventing these participants from having valid XHTML websites.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, a workaround has been found by creating a separate HTML webpage containing only the AdSense advertisement units, and then importing this page into an XHTML webpage with an object tag.[7] This workaround appears to be accepted by Google.[8]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;How AdSense works&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; * The webmaster inserts the AdSense JavaScript code into a webpage.&lt;br /&gt; * Each time this page is visited, the JavaScript code creates an IFrame with a src attribute set to the page's URL.&lt;br /&gt; * For contextual advertisements, Google's servers use a cache of the page to determine a set of high-value keywords. If keywords have been cached already, advertisements are served for those keywords based on the AdWords bidding system. (More details are described in the AdSense patent.)&lt;br /&gt; * For site-targeted advertisements, the advertiser chooses the page(s) on which to display advertisements, and pays based on cost per mille (CPM), or the price advertisers choose to pay for every thousand advertisements displayed.[9] [10]&lt;br /&gt; * For referrals, Google adds money to the advertiser's account when visitors either download the referred software or subscribe to the referred service.[11] The referral program will be retired in August 2008.[12]&lt;br /&gt; * Search advertisements are added to the list of results after the visitor performs a search.&lt;br /&gt; * Because the JavaScript is sent to the Web browser when the page is requested, it is possible for other website owners to copy the JavaScript code into their own webpages. To protect against this type of fraud, AdSense customers can specify the pages on which advertisements should be shown. AdSense then ignores clicks from pages other than those specified.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Abuse&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some webmasters create websites tailored to lure searchers from Google and other engines onto their AdSense website to make money from clicks. These "zombie" websites often contain nothing but a large amount of interconnected, automated content (e.g., a directory with content from the Open Directory Project, or scraper websites relying on RSS feeds for content). Possibly the most popular form of such "AdSense farms" are splogs (spam blogs), which are centered around known high-paying keywords. Many of these websites use content from other websites, such as Wikipedia, to attract visitors. These and related approaches are considered to be search engine spam and can be reported to Google.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A Made for AdSense (MFA) website or webpage has little or no content, but is filled with advertisements so that users have no choice but to click on advertisements. Such pages were tolerated in the past, but due to complaints, Google now disables such accounts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There have also been reports of Trojan horses engineered to produce counterfeit Google advertisements that are formatted to look like legitimate ones. The Trojan downloads itself onto an unsuspecting computer through a webpage and then replaces the original advertisements with its own set of malicious advertisements.[13]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Criticism&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Due to concerns about click fraud, Google AdSense has been criticized by some search engine optimization firms as a large source of what Google calls "invalid clicks", in which one company clicks on a rival's search engine advertisements to drive up the other company's costs.[14] Some publishers that have been blocked by Google complain that little justification or transparency was provided. Webmasters who publish AdSense can receive a life-long ban without justification.[citation needed] Google claims they cannot "disclose any specific details" on fraudulent clicks since it may reveal the nature of their proprietary click-fraud monitoring system.[15]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To help prevent click fraud, AdSense publishers can choose from a number of click-tracking programs. These programs display detailed information about the visitors who click on the AdSense advertisements. Publishers can use this to determine whether or not they have been a victim of click fraud. There are a number of commercial tracking scripts available for purchase.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The payment terms for webmasters have also been criticized.[16] Google withholds payment until an account reaches US$100,[17] but many small content providers[citation needed] require a long time—years in many cases—to build up this much AdSense revenue. These pending payments are recorded on Google's balance sheet as "accrued revenue share".[18] At the close of its 2006 fiscal year, the sum of all these small debts amounted to a little over US$370 million, money that Google is able to invest but effectively belongs to webmasters. However, Google will pay all earned revenue greater than US$10 when an AdSense account is closed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Google recently came under fire when the official Google AdSense Blog showcased the French video website Imineo.com. This website violated Google's AdSense Program Policies by displaying AdSense alongside sexually explicit material.[19] Typically, websites displaying AdSense have been banned from showing such content.[citation needed]&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AdSense&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3444197142356995735-4598114598246422953?l=ultima-adsense.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/feeds/4598114598246422953/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3444197142356995735&amp;postID=4598114598246422953' title='6 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/4598114598246422953'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/4598114598246422953'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/2008/09/adsense.html' title='AdSense'/><author><name>A.Rahman</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/18160260965388558280</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='31' src='http://users.cjb.net/rahmaxman/my.jpg'/></author><thr:total>6</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3444197142356995735.post-1400383462487829063</id><published>2007-09-15T09:32:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2007-09-15T09:40:34.509-07:00</updated><title type='text'>The Google Sandbox Myth</title><content type='html'>Who haven’t been in the Google Sandbox? As new website owners, we all experience the Google Sandbox dilemma. I can relate to the pain of webmasters and website owners who are currently experiencing being on the Google Sandbox. And I bring good news: there is a guaranteed way to come out of the Google Sandbox! But first, it is important that you know what is meant by Google Sandbox.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;The Google Sandbox&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Google Sandbox is such a popular term among webmasters, web marketing specialists and new website owners. Google Sandbox refers to the period when a new website appears invisible on the Google search results even after a month or two of search engine optimization. The most probable reason why new websites are placed in the Google Sandbox is that Google doesn’t see yet the importance of these websites.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;New websites can be on the Google sandbox for at least three months. This is a test of patience for the website owner and of course the web marketers who have tried their best in promoting the website. It would be understandable to be on the Google sandbox for at least three months. But what about those websites which seem to be locked on the sandbox for many months already?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;How To Get Out Of The Google Sandbox?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Who would want to be in the Google Sandbox forever? Of course, every single website owners aim to finally get hold of Google Sandbox freedom. But what can we do? The best and guaranteed way to get out of the Google sandbox is to focus on your website and not on Google. Forget about the Google Sandbox first and concentrate on more important things in web marketing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Shift your focus from the Google sandbox to making your website more relevant. You can’t simply get out of the sandbox – you need to impress Google with your website. This way, Google will be able to see your website’s importance and when it does – boom! Out of the Google sandbox you go!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;How Earn Google’s Respect&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These effective tips in search engine optimization will help your website in its struggle to be free from the Google Sandbox. These are easy steps that are undoubtedly effective.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Equip your website with the relevant and useful web content. Your website must have a unique content.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Submit your website to high quality and relevant web directories.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Create relevant articles that provide useful information about your website’s theme and submit them to article directories. This a good way of generating quality one way links.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;• Blogs, forums and other interactive stuffs can add to your website’s relevance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why let your website remain on the Google Sandbox when you can let it come out in no time? These pages have undergone a process called “SEO” and have earned their respective page rankings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is SEO, you ask? SEO or search engine optimization refers to the process of increasing the number of visitor that a website gets by ranking high in the search results of a search engine. Ranking high in the results of a search increases a website’s chance of being visited by a user.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How so? Well, it is common knowledge that most Internet users tend to simply visit the first website in the results instead of browsing through pages and pages of search results. Therefore, it is same to conclude that where a site ranks in a search is crucial in garnering more traffic for the site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Most people assume that SEO is a very complicated process that is simply too much to comprehend. Meanwhile, others believed that ranking high at the search engine is simply a matter of luck. Both statements are fallacies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ranking high at search engines has nothing to do with luck nor is it impossible to understand. All you need is a couple of simple things in order for your web pages to do well at the search engines.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Search engine rankings play a significant role in Internet marketing campaign, which is why it is important that you understand the basics in SEO. Good search engine ranking is not an overnight phenomenon, therefore you must be patient.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are a lot of search engines out there; some even offers specialized categories that utilize multiple search engine results to compile an outline of listed results, rather than taking results from its own databases.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, if your main goal is to be successful on the net, then optimization for MSN search engine is a must. MSN is definitely one of the leading search engines on the net today. What separates it from other search engine giants? Well, MSN place great importance in using page optimization techniques, whereas Google and Yahoo concentrates on incoming link anchor text alone. What this means for you is that MSN indexes more pages than other search engines, consequently allowing your pages to rank higher and faster.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Moreover, the search engine giant has recently undergone a major change. What kind of change, you ask? MSN Search has incorporated “neural networks” into its search engine algorithm, or what is now referred to as “RankNet.” This monumental change took place last June. This algorithm is indeed a breakthrough, and is fast becoming a matter of great consideration among search optimizers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just what is RankNet and how does it work? Basically, RankNet is a “learning machine” which considers the patterns of human searches and then learns from them thus, providing a more relevant result not only on the current searches but for future searches as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since SEO is not a matter of chance but of strategy, there are certain steps that you could undertake in order for your pages or site to have good rankings at MSN. MSN Search highly advised that you remember two important things. One is to use well-formed HTML code and the other is not to have any broken links in your pages.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are other steps that you might also consider. For starters, it might be a good idea to use a robots.txt file to control how MSNBot indexes your site. This is also vital for other crawlers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Keep in mind that MSN is all about content. So, what do you do? Limit all pages to a reasonable size and drop pictures that are lower than 150 KB. Adding a site map would also be beneficial since, it will allow MSNBot to locate all of your pages without difficulty. Remember also to pick one topic for each page.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Avoid putting words that are not relevant just to increase a page's keyword density. Hidden text or links are also a bad idea, this usually indicates spam, and thus, MSN may remove you from their index.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another thing you can do is place a descriptive content at the top of each web page. Make sure that each page has a clear topic and purpose. You can also add a website description at the Description meta tag. Now, if you ever you change your content, make sure that you update your website description.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the most important factors in page optimization, particularly RankNet is the keywords. Placing keywords in a strong paragraph at the beginning, in link text, and repeating it near the end of a page might not be new ideas. As a matter of fact, this has been part of good optimization practice for quite a while now. Moreover, it also makes logical sense when it comes to providing solid information for website users. It is the importance on these elements in the new MSN search engine that is interesting.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Remember that MSN is quite a very content and keyword sensitive search engine. If you give extra care with the use and placing of your keywords as well as great consideration on your content, then you can be assure that all your efforts will not go to waste because MSN Search will reward your site with good search engine rankings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;MSN offers various features and services; MSN Search is just one of them. Optimization for this search engine can very well mean success on the web, what’s more is that it can be accomplished quite easily (provided that your site features a lot of original content). Page optimization is important not only at MSN Search but for other search engines as well. Good optimization of your page will certainly improve your ranking not only at MSN but in other search engines as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what are you waiting for? Why not try it out and see for yourself if you can pull your pages up and do well not only in the MSN search engine but in others as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;About the Author: Danny Wirken, http://www.theinternetone.net&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3444197142356995735-2763077084515686323?l=ultima-adsense.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/feeds/2763077084515686323/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3444197142356995735&amp;postID=2763077084515686323' title='2 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/2763077084515686323'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/2763077084515686323'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/2007/03/quick-look-at-msn-optimization.html' title='A Quick Look At MSN Optimization'/><author><name>A.Rahman</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/18160260965388558280</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='31' src='http://users.cjb.net/rahmaxman/my.jpg'/></author><thr:total>2</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3444197142356995735.post-3125969855496196672</id><published>2007-03-04T02:01:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2007-03-04T02:08:11.947-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Website Traffic'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='webmaster resources'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Website Promotion'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Traffic-Building'/><title type='text'>The A to Z Guide to Getting Website Traffic</title><content type='html'>In September of 1999, Brett Tabke wrote "26 Steps to 15k a Day" in the Webmaster World forum. A lot has changed since then, and now is the time to consider a new 26-step plan that meets the current needs of webmasters in 2006. Some of the old ones still apply (writing new content everyday, for example), and some don't (submitting to the search engines is no longer necessary), and we're here to tell you which is which! As you probably already know, bringing in traffic is not easy - it takes hard work, determination and lots of elbow grease. So if you're ready, roll up your sleeves and follow these 26 simple steps, and within just one year you will generate enough traffic to keep you busy for a long, long time!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A) Keyword Research&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Before you do anything else, use a keyword research tool and do an extensive job researching the right keyphrases to use for your site. What keyphrases are your direct competitors using? Are there any keyphrases that create a potential for market entry? Are there any that you can put a spin on and create a whole new niche with?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;B) Domain Name&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you want to brand your company name, then choose a domain name that reflects it. If your company is Kawunga, then get www.kawunga.com. If it's taken, then get www.kawungawidgets.com. No dashes, and no more than two words in the domain if appropriate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;C) Avoid the Sandbox&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Buy your domain name early, as soon as you have chosen your keyphrases and your company name. Get it hosted right away and put up a quick one page site saying a little about who you are, what you sell, and that there will be more to come soon. Make sure it gets crawled by Google and Yahoo (either submit it or link to it from another site).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;D) Create Content&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Create over 30 pages of real, original content on your site. This will give the spiders something to chew on. It will also give you more opportunities to been seen in the search engine results for a wide variety of keyphrases.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;E) Site Design&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Use the "Keep It Simple" principle. Employ an external CSS file, clean up any Java Scripts by referring to them off the page in an external file, don't use frames, use flash the way you would an image, and no matter what, do not create a flash site. Do not offer a busy site with lots of bells and whistles to your visitors. Keep things nice and simple. Make it easy for them to find what they are looking for and they'll have no reason to look anywhere else.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;F) Page Size&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The less kilobytes your page uses, the better - especially for the home page. Optimize your images and make sure the page loads quickly. Most people and businesses in the Western world may have high speed, but cell phones and other countries might not. If your site loads slowly, you may have already lost your visitor before they've even had a chance to browse around.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;G) Usability&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Make sure that your site follows good usability rules. Remember that people spend more time on other sites, so don't violate design conventions. Don't use PDF files for online reading. Change the colours for visited links, and use good headers. Look up usability for more tips and tricks, it will be worth your while.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;H) On Site Optimization&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Use the keyphrase you have chosen in your title (most important), your headers (when appropriate), and within the text. Make sure that your page/content is ABOUT your keyphrase. If you are selling widgets, than write about widgets. Don't just stick the word widgets into the text.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I) Globals&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Globals are the links that remain the same on every page. They are the reference for new visitors to keep them from getting lost. Sometimes they are on the left of the page, sometimes they consist of tabs at the top. Often they are in the footer of the page as well. Make sure that you have an old style text version of your globals on every page. I usually create tabs at the top, and put the text versions in the footer at the bottom of the page. Find out what works best for you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;J) Headers&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Use bold headers. On the Internet, people scan they don't read. So initially, all they will see are the headers. If your headers don't address their concerns, they won't stick around long enough to read your content. Use appropriate keyphrases when you can.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;K) Site Map&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Build a site map with a link to each of your pages. Keep it up to date. This will allow the spiders to get to every page. Put a text link to the site map on the main pages.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;L) Content&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Add a page every 2-3 days: 200-500 words. Create original content, don't copy others. The more original and useful it is, the more people will read it, link to it, and most importantly of all - like it enough to keep coming back for more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;M) White Hat Only&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Stay away from black hat optimizing techniques. Black hat optimization consists of using any method to get higher rankings that the search engines would disapprove of, such as keyword stuffing, doorway pages, invisible text, cloaking and more. Stick to white hat methods for long-term success. People who use black hat optimization are usually there for the short-term, such as in porn, gambling, and Viagra markets (just look at your email spam for more black hat markets). These black hat industry sites are usually around just long enough to make a quick buck.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;N) Competition Analysis&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Who is linking to your competition? Use Yahoo's "link:" service to see the back links of your competition. For example, type in "link:http://www.yourdomain.com" into Yahoo search without the quotes). Try to get links from the same sites as your direct competitors. Better yet, see if you can replace them!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;O) Submit&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Submit to five groups of directories:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Dmoz.org and Yahoo (local, such as Yahoo.co.uk, or Yahoo.ca, etc... if you can).&lt;br /&gt;2. Find directories in your field and get into them. Pay if you must, but only if the price is reasonable.&lt;br /&gt;3. Local directories that relate to your country or region.&lt;br /&gt;4. Any other directories that would be appropriate.&lt;br /&gt;5. If you are targeting the local market, make sure that you are in the Yellow Pages and Superpages (because search engines use these listings to power local searches)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;P) Blog&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Start a blog about your industry and write a new entry at least once a week. Allow your visitors to comment or, better yet, write their own entries. This will create even more content on your site and will keep people coming back regularly to see what is new.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Q) Links From Other Sites&lt;br /&gt;Simply submit your website to appropriate sites, asking that they link to your site as a reference because it will benefit their visitors. Don't spend too much time on this, if your content is good and original, they will find you and link to you naturally. Remember that Linking is Queen (http://www.redcarpetweb.com/promotion/0409.html#feature).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Stay away from reciprocal linking, links farms, link scams, and any other unnatural links. They may not necessarily hurt you, but Google tracks when you get a link, how long you have had a link, who links to the site that links to you, where you live, what you had for breakfast, and more (not really... but kind of).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;R) Statistics&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Make sure your server has a good statistics program. Use it! If you don't have access to a good program, then pay for one. Without the knowledge of who is coming to your site, from where, and how often, you will be missing out on some essential tools to improve your site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;S) Pay-Per-Click (PPC)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sign up for Google AdWords and Yahoo Search Marketing. Spend money getting people to your site. Use it for branding too. This will create a steady flow of visitors to your site, and will make your site more accessible to your potential clients. You don't have to be #1, you don't even have to be #5... just make sure you are on the first page of search results for most of your keyphrases, when the cost is right.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;T) Look Ahead&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Stay informed of what is coming up in your market. If a new product will be out next season, write about it now. Take advantage of being a first mover. The search engines, and linkers, will reward you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;U) Articles&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Write an article once every week and get it published in as many online publications as you can (with a link back to your site). Include the article on your site. Not only will this create many links to your site, but it will also get people to click to your site, and most importantly you will become an expert in the eyes of your visitors. They may even begin looking for your site by querying your name!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;V) Study Your Traffic&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After 30 to 90 days you will have enough results to analyze in your statistics program. Go over them with a fine tooth comb. Get the answers to these questions:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; * Where are your visitors coming from?&lt;br /&gt; * Which search engines do they use?&lt;br /&gt; * What queries do they type in?&lt;br /&gt; * What pages on your site do they visit the most?&lt;br /&gt; * What are the entry pages on your site?&lt;br /&gt; * What are the exit pages?&lt;br /&gt; * What path do they follow when they browse your site? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Use this information to tweak your site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; * Use the most popular page to encourage the visitors to make you money.&lt;br /&gt; * Adjust the paths they use to send them where you want them.&lt;br /&gt; * Figure out why they leave from the exit pages. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, see what search terms people use to find you, and fine tune your keyphrases. If you targeted "green widgets", but your visitors are finding you with the query "green leather widgets", then start creating content about "leather widgets"!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;W) Verify Your Submissions&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After 3-4 months, check that you got into Dmoz.org and all of the other directories that you submitted to. If you have not been included, then submit again, or better yet, write a polite email to the editor and ask why. Also, find any new directories that would be worthy of your submittal time and submit to them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;X) RSS Feeds&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;RSS (Real Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) is becoming a powerful tool for Internet marketers. You can quickly and easily add fresh content to your website. Article feeds are updated frequently, so you can give your visitors (and the search engines) what they want - fresh content! You can use RSS to promote any new content, such as new pages, articles, blogs, press releases, and more!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Y) Press Releases&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A press release is a written communication that you submit to journalists in the media (newspapers, radio, television, magazines) which are used to make announcements that are newsworthy. Create press releases announcing publication of any new articles or new company information or products. If it is interesting/original enough, a journalist may pick it up and write an article about it. Before you know it, your website address may get published in the NY Times.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Z) Keep Your Content Fresh&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Remember to write a new page every 2-3 days. I only mentioned it briefly, but it is probably the most important point in this article. Keep writing! Without fresh content, your site will gradually drop in the search engine results. To stay on top, your content has to be the most up-to-date, freshest, and most interesting and original content in your field.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Follow these 26 simple steps and I assure you that within one year you will call your site a success. You will bring in a massive amount of traffic from within your industry and watch as your business grows!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So start writing, and write yourself to the top!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;About the author: Shawn Campbell is an enthusiastic player in the ecommerce marketplace, and co-founded Red Carpet Web Promotion, Inc.. Non-organic or paid search optimization and organic, or unpaid search optimization.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Paid search advertising relies on purchased search phrases to drive visitors to a website, while organic search optimization focuses on developing web sites that are naturally search engine friendly and appear in the unpaid or "organic" search engine results pages.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Successful organic search engine optimization combines technical know-how with persuasive marketing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Organically optimized web sites contain content that visitors find informative and relevant to their searches. Content is further optimized for search engines by incorporating relevant key phrases or words into the site's literature.&lt;br /&gt;Organic optimization is holistic in approach. Every aspect of a web site is analysed for it's level of search friendliness. Aspects like the site's title, meta-tags, editorial copy, structure and design, usability and function are all taken into consideration. These aspects and many others are equally considered when optimizing a web site. There are, however four main points of interest:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Key Phrases:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the first steps in organic optimization is determining which key phrases are to be targeted. This is determined by researching which words or phrases a target audience is most likely to search for. These target keywords are then incorporated into the title, description and content of a web site.&lt;br /&gt;It is important to note that the overuse of keywords in a web site can result in a search engine’s indexing software to considering a site as abusing or spamming the search engine and can result in that site being removed from the search index.&lt;br /&gt;Generally a key word should appear five to eight times within a site’s editorial content and content should consist of between 200 and 400 words.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Site Structure&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Search engines are somewhat limited in the way they can index a web site. Search engine robots or spiders are chiefly concerned with determining two things, what is this web site all about and where should this site show up in the search engine results. Often the way in which a web site is constructed can have negative results in how effective these search spiders are.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is important to understand how search engine indexing works in order to create web sites which are fine tuned for optimal search results. Search spiders look primarily for text content when judging how a site is to be indexed. Sites which are built entirely of graphic elements or flash are not search friendly. Sites which feature an overuse of javascript and other dynamic content are not search friendly.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A multitude of factors are considered when optimizing for the search engines. Since different search engines follow different rules, and the rules often change, it is unlikely that every aspect of a web site will be perfectly matched to every search engine. The important thing to strive for is eliminating the elements of a site that are known to cause problems, and emphasizing as many search friendly aspects as possible.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Usability&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A site which is difficult to navigate, slow to load, or leaves a user wondering exactly what the site is all about is a site that is not going to perform very well. The flow of information within a web site must be logical and intuitive. Optimizing a site for performance is critical to its overall level of success. After all, what is the point of having a web site that ranks well in search engines if nobody can use it?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4. Inbound Links&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The amount of inbound links to a web site has a direct effect on the search engine page ranking of the site. Virtually all of the popular search engines have methods of calculating the link popularity of any given site. This makes inbound links an important area of organic search engine optimization. The quality of the inbound links can matter more than the quantity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Search engines place more importance on relevant links from sites which they consider to be authorities on any given key phrase. Search engines strive to provide the most relevant results possible by filtering out meaningless or “junk” links to a website.&lt;br /&gt;In some cases, large numbers of irrelevant inbound links are seen by the search engines as abuse or spamming. Practices such as “link farming” and “free-for-all” link pages are frowned upon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As the popularity of paid search advertising grows so does the need for organic optimization. While paid search campaigns can offer short term exposure, organic optimization involves steady, long term results. And as the costs of paid search advertising continues to climb, organic optimization offers the assurance of appearing in search pages for natural searches.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By combining aspects of search engine technicalities, site structure and usablity, &lt;br /&gt;organic search engine optimization not only focuses on search engine results but offers the end user of a site a quality experience.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Form: http://affordable-search-engine-optimization-services.com/&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3444197142356995735-2452810074345378793?l=ultima-adsense.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/feeds/2452810074345378793/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3444197142356995735&amp;postID=2452810074345378793' title='2 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/2452810074345378793'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/2452810074345378793'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/2007/03/organic-search-engine-optimization.html' title='Organic Search Engine Optimization'/><author><name>A.Rahman</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/18160260965388558280</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='31' src='http://users.cjb.net/rahmaxman/my.jpg'/></author><thr:total>2</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3444197142356995735.post-1884876246906336591</id><published>2007-03-04T01:35:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2007-03-04T02:05:02.434-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='webmaster resources'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Website Promotion'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='SEO'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='keywords'/><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Traffic-Building'/><title type='text'>FAQ About Search Engine Optimization (SEO)</title><content type='html'>What is SEO anyway?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Search Engine Optimization (SEO for short) is a highly involved, somewhat lengthy, process designed to elevate an internet website’s major search engine ranking and/or positioning. The major search engines (Google, Microsoft Network (MSN), and Yahoo) make up greater than 70% of search traffic on the internet. This is a common way for people to find others, information, companies, potential business partners, etc. by entering a “keyword” or search term. Typically, the searcher will seek information on their keyword or search term and click on the top results. Thus the higher a site ranks for a given keyword or search term, the better its chances of attracting more visitors to its site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why Should I Care about SEO?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you run a business and have a web presence, don’t you want the most people possible knowing about that business? Wouldn’t it benefit you if your website was able to bring you new leads or develop new customers every day, 24 hours per day? Research has shown that nearly 95% of all search engine users rarely read past the first page of search results. Because of that, it behooves you to have your website on the first page of search results for specific keywords and terms.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Can’t I just Pay for a High Ranking?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No! Organic (or “free”) search listing rankings cannot be purchased. These are “earned” over time via links, content, keyword relevance, page and site descriptions, titles of pages, etc. You can pay for clicks to your website based on specific terms or keywords however these are separate results from the free results people commonly click.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is Pay-Per-Click?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pay-per-click is a form of internet advertising where you pay a certain amount for each “click” or “hit” to your website as a result of a person searching for a certain keyword or phrase.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is Click Fraud?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Click fraud occurs when a person or automated computer script imitates a legitimate search for a keyword or phrase yet clicks on the pay-per-click result for the sole purpose of generating revenue for the search engine or affiliate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is a Linking Partner?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A linking partner is a website which provides a link to your site. Some will require a link on your site to theirs in return (a reciprocal link) while others will want to have a link on a third party’s site in exchange for the link to yours. Reciprocal links aren’t as valuable as unique one way links but the more links you have pointing to your site (link popularity), the more “important” the search engines will consider your site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is Page Rank?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Page Rank is Google’s proprietary algorithm for determining a site’s importance. It’s expressed as a value from 1-10 with 10 being the most important and most desirable. The algorithm was designed by Larry Page, Google’s co-founder. Page Rank is affected by things such as the number of links pointing to your website, and the amount of &lt;br /&gt;unique and relevant content on your website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is a Keyword?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A keyword is a typical word or phrase you’d expect people to use when searching for your site. That’s about as simple as we can explain it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is Keyword Density?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The number of keywords you use on a particular page in relation to the number of total words on that page. The more keywords you have peppered throughout the page and site, the better your site may rank for that particular term. You must be careful not to load a page with too many keywords, however—that is considered keyword “stuffing” or spamming and is frowned upon by the search engines.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is a Sitemap?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A sitemap is basically an inventory listing of all of the pages on your site. It tells the search engines how to get around your site and also how many pages there are on your site. It can be made visible to your visitors, but it doesn’t have to be. Uploading an XML file directly to the search engines is a generally accepted best practice for optimizing your search engine rankings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is a Spider?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Search engines utilize small programs to surf and inventory sites all over the internet. These are called spiders, and they follow links from site to site to gather their inventory to report back to the search engine. They are also referred to as crawlers or bots from time to time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is a Meta Tag?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A meta tag is an HTML piece of code which provides information about that particular page or document. These don’t provide formatting information or any actionable code—they are there for the search engines to catalog your site and the pages contained on your site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is a Blog?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A blog (short for weblog) is a news or journal type of site which is frequently used more for opinionated type of entries and is typically updated frequently. It is intended for general consumption but has become a valuable tool for all types of users to spread information and awareness of their websites.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why Should I Write Articles for my Website?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Articles are a great way to increase the amount of unique content on your site as it pertains to the keywords you desire to rank well. There are numerous websites that publish articles, and it is common practice for the authors to include a link in their by-line back to their website. This creates an inbound link to the author’s website which in turn increases its popularity. It’s also a good way to increase awareness aside from the linking benefits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What are Directories?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Directories are databases containing listings to websites based on categories and sub-categories. Many of the search engines access directories to crawl their links to learn of new sites. Directories are an invaluable resource for search engines and can often serve to improve a site’s ranking depending upon how important the search engine weighs the directory in question. Directories may provide a link to your site often without requiring a return or reciprocal link on your site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There you have a faq based overview of search engine optimization, why you should care, and some of the key terms used. From my experience, I have found that sites with good looking templates usually get more clicks than most crappy sites. Therefore it only makes sense for you to spend a little time searching for your adsense site template.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Although your main goal is to make money from Adsense, it is a wise idea to source templates that also incoorporate other profit streams. For example, instead of just having adsense blocks strategically placed on your site, you might want to add a related clickbank product or maybe amazon products. These products usually will earn you more than an adsense click, but they are usually disregarded because unlike with Adsense, in order to get paid you actually have to make a sale.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another thing, you should look out for when sourcing templates is the graphics and pictures. Try to get adsense site templates that have at least a well designed header graphic, that is the first thing your visitor sees when they visit your site. Remember, they say first impressions are what really matter. So you really want your visitor to value your site right from the first look. If they value your site, they are more likely going to click and follow any links on the website, including the Adsense ones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is also a good idea, to get adsense site templates written in simple html, so that you can easily edit them yourself should the need arise. It has been documented that search engines love websites with changing content and the easiest way to accomplish this automatically is by inserting content from rss feeds into your templates.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's one last suggestion for you. In order to save yourself time, find yourself one template designer or adsense site template source you can trust and stick to it for all your future requirements. Concentrate your efforts more on your keyword research and actually setting up your Adsense websites.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Munyaradzi_Chinongoza&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3444197142356995735-3235662981738642504?l=ultima-adsense.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/feeds/3235662981738642504/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3444197142356995735&amp;postID=3235662981738642504' title='1 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/3235662981738642504'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/3235662981738642504'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/2007/02/cool-adsense-site-templates.html' title='Cool Adsense Site Templates'/><author><name>A.Rahman</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/18160260965388558280</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='31' src='http://users.cjb.net/rahmaxman/my.jpg'/></author><thr:total>1</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3444197142356995735.post-8218121532927345011</id><published>2007-01-19T08:23:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2007-01-19T08:41:38.181-08:00</updated><title type='text'>EARN OVER $1,000,000 WITH AUTO INTERNET TRAFFIC.</title><content type='html'>EARN OVER $1,000,000 WITH AUTO INTERNET TRAFFIC.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Proven to attract up to 1.57 Million visitors to your website.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wall-to-wall Traffic Of Red Hot, Hungry Visitors Scorching Your Traffic Counter - and it's 100% FREE?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is what you're in business for, isn't it? And many people (illegally) disclose how much they have been making with AdSense. There are stories of people raising over one thousand dollars per month and more using AdSense.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are also stories of people exceeding $100,000.00 per month but it's a bit hard to believe such stories. The truth to the matter is that if you have a small website and you just want it to support itself, and don't wish to reach your pocket for its maintenance costs you can probably do this with AdSense.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;AdSense is also very good for people who host a lot of pages. Even if the said pages don't generate a lot of traffic individually, every click counts and you can earn a bit of money by doing this. And that just goes to prove that sometimes quality matters nearly as much as quantity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There's no telling how much money you're going to make by using Google's AdSense but you can sort of tell for yourself, before actually starting, by taking a few things into consideration.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First, is the amount of visits you get every day. While there's no way to estimate precisely on this, you can generally make a safe assumption that if you have a lot of clicks per day you'll be making good money.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, this depends on what exactly your site is about. If your site is about anything popular (music, movies, whatever) you're bound to get a lot of banner clicks. These have a coefficient associated with them, called the CTR (click through ratio).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Basically, what it translates to is that if a large proportion of your site's visitors click the ads you'll be making more money. And the best way to do this is to have some popular content in your site, ensuring the links direct users towards popular items as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then of course, there's the position and number of ads on your website. While you don't want to overdo it, having many links will undoubtedly generate more income for you as a webmaster. Do not however believe, that if you just add a lot of ads in an important portion of your site, visitors could always just skip them (and be assured that many do just that).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There's something between an art and a science to positioning your ads. People generally look in certain places and never look in others, and knowing this a website author and/or webmaster can do a great deal of things to increase his earnings with AdSense.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All in all, the amount of money you make with AdSense depends on many factors. But if you have a site with interesting content and/or many pages, and if you see a constantly large amount of traffic every day, you can bet you'll be making a lot of money with AdSense.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Even if you aren't in the above categories, AdSense is still worth using because there's very little hassle in setting it up, and many times it can help financially support the site, while being a nice bonus to get through the mail at the end of the month.&lt;br /&gt;About the Author&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dan Farrell is offering 7 Free Marketing Videos and An Ecourse, "How To Make Money Online" by David Valliere's. The acronym's most popular translation is "Really Simple Syndication. Once your browser or computer has an RSS reader on board, you can subscribe to any number of RSS "feeds." A feed is simply a way in which a reader may subscribe to website content - most commonly blogs or news sites. A news site, for example, may list their latest headlines or entire articles in their feed every time a new article is published. A blog would publish this feed as a series of recent posts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Feeds are published by millions of publishers, from small individuals to large organizations like Newsweek. The value of a feed is that it brings the most current site content to you in a format that is easily scanned; further, you are spared the task of visiting each source site each day. This is typically done through the use of what is called an 'aggregator' or 'feed reader'.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Feed readers or RSS readers, are software programs that run on your computer (or PDA or phone); let you easily subscribe to feeds, and allow you to read through them efficiently. Some are relatively simple, showing the headline and summary. The fancier ones often work with (or in) your browser to make viewing the material look much like the source page. Once you have a reader on your computer, subscribing to a feed with is an easy click or drag from your browser. Sites that provide RSS feeds will usually have a button for that purpose.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are several RSS feed formats as well as one with an entirely different methodology called Atom. Atom has become popular with some bloggers and blogging tools. Some aggregators can read both. The other acronyms you will see in "feedspeak" are XML, which stands for 'extensible markup language' and is the code standard for these simple text feeds. An 'OPML" file is a format for indexing hierarchical feed lists. If you dive into this web habit in a big way, your aggregator or reader may keep your subscription list in an OPML file.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;An RSS feed is a great method for staying abreast of issues and topics that interest you. There are a number of feed "libraries," so to speak, from which you can learn what's out there in your areas of interest. Google has a built-in reader that makes the subscription process easy, as does Yahoo. Firefox has a downloadable extension for the purpose of aggregating RSS feeds, as well as a default ability to save RSS feeds as "live bookmarks" that update via the RSS feed. You can download a number of stand alone readers and aggregators; you can find them through a simple web search.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The whole RSS "movement" is a step towards utilizing the Internet more efficiently. The trick is to avoid overloading your email inbox with daily reports that you end up ignoring most of the time. For that purpose, there are sites like Feedster that will search millions of RSS feeds for articles that are relevant to your interests. Like any search tool, however, these services are hit and miss. They are still working off keywords and sometimes what they find is relevant, sometimes not. But if you want daily news broken into categories, it's great technology once you learn how to make it work for you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;About The Author&lt;br /&gt;Madison Lockwood is a customer relations associate for http://www.apollohosting.com. If not it is the name that Google uses for their PPC (Pay Per Click) system. People all over the world are making very good money from using Adwords. However, alot more are losing alot more money because alot of people do not now how to use PPC or Adwords properly. Here are a few tips to get your Adwords campaign up and running properly.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tip #1: Get a domain name of your own. Why? because Google changed its policy and is not letting most affiliate links advertise on Adwords. Having your own domain name will ensure that Google Adwords does not stop your advertising campaign.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tip #2: Choose your keywords wisely. Do not just pick any random keyword that comes into your head. Think of keywords that people would use to look for your product and or service. Search on Google and Yahoo for a "Keyword Generator". A keyword generator is used to come up with keywords. For example, if you typed in "Learn To Fish" the keyword generator will come up with similar keywords that you may want to use.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tip #3: Using Broad, Phrase and Exact Keywords. A Broad keyword is a word that you would simply type into the search box, like GOLF CLUBS, your search will come up with any site that has golf Clubs on its pages or keywords. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Phrase Keywords are keywords or phrases with a quotation mark at the beginning and end of the keyword or phrase. Example, "Golf Clubs" this will bring up anything that matches this keyword or will have something that is very similar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Exact keywords, this means that if a person looking for Golf Clubs types in brackets [Golf Clubs] only sites or ads will show for this search. It will not bring up any ad or page that does not have to to with Golf Clubs. So if you are advertising light fittings, I suggest you use all 3 types: Light Fittings, "Light Fittings", [Light Fittings]. This will get you ad better coverage and really boost your targeted traffic.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tip #4: Write a catchy and to the point ad. You only have a certain amount of characters to write your Header and Body. So use it wisely. Get to the point and entice the surfer to come to your site. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These tips are just a few that will help you with you PPC campaign. These tips sound simple but are usually some of the most overlooked. When using Google Adwords you want to make money not loose money.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;About the Author&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Learn exactly how to beat Google Adwords, make a huge profit and do it every single day. How much do you have to spend?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I realize that's not the most helpful answer, but it's the honest-to-goodness most appropriate response to a useless question.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yet how can I blame you for asking? You're not in the business of Internet marketing. I am. And I must admit, we 'net marketers get a little full of ourselves at times, assuming that all business owners live for long hours staring into cyberspace with nothing to keep them company but the sounds of their computers humming and their retinas searing. We want to believe you love the world wide web as much as we do. It makes us feel less insular (okay, nerdy).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In reality, business owners just want their websites to DO something other than prettify their computer screens. So, they shop the web for a marketing expert, an "affordable" marketing expert who will dish out rankings like chowder at a soup kitchen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Paradigm check: in marketing, cash flow matters more than budget. That's because marketing—in any line of business—is an investment, not a line item in the annual budget. Investments are supposed to generate returns. Costs do not. Rent is a cost. Ink cartridges for your printer are a cost. Marketing is what you do to drive revenue and profits. It's an investment in the future of your business. It keeps the pipeline full and people wanting more. Marketing doesn't "cost" money; it "makes" money.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To quote Perry Marshall in The Definitive Guide to Google AdWords (2005, p147), “If you know that you’re getting back $1.50 for every $1.00 you spend in marketing, then why on earth would you ever put a budget limit on it?”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Amen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Once you have grasped this idea, then you can start looking for your marketing comrade in arms. Just be prepared to answer a lot of questions. No one should be talking money until there has been a meaningful exchange about the nature of your enterprise. To put it plainly, asking “how much it will cost” before the consultant knows who the heck you are or what you think you are doing is as meaningful as asking the waiter at your favorite restaurant “How much will it cost to eat here?” You can put food in your belly for ten bucks or a hundred. Based on the choice you make, the results will be quite different.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And that’s not to say you can’t get some decent caloric value for ten bucks. It’s just that you may decide it wasn’t worth the effort. And the chic restaurant you just ate at might not exactly welcome you back either.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You don’t have to patronize the hottest joint in town to get value for your marketing dollar either. But how much you spend to “get more traffic” depends on where you are coming from and where you want to go. Search visibility, content development, and usability are all equally critical to the success of your online marketing strategy. If you’re starting from ground zero (and let’s face it, most websites are), paying a professional a modest sum to refine even one aspect of your online mix is going to help your cause. Just don’t expect it to revolutionize your business. It won’t. Most in-demand marketers won’t take on such small projects anyway. They’re too interested in earning a living and yes, helping you get results before you retire.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, let’s say you sell widgets for ten dollars a piece. How many sales would you have to make to pay for the investment you and your marketer have agreed upon? If the numbers sound reasonable, that’s a good sign. If the numbers make you feel like throwing up, keep looking. If the next three quotes you receive also make you feel like throwing up, you might want to reconsider the whole entrepreneur thing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A good marketer will evaluate your online venture holistically and then allocate finite resources to those tactics that will have the most impact toward an agreed upon end. Just know that the “end” does not suddenly arrive one day like a freight train roaring through your home office. And the “end” cannot always be accurately quantified either. Good marketing is more like a constant upward evolution with a few inevitable pitfalls along the way. There are no guarantees, just choices. The strategic ones are what you want to pay for.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Not the definitive answer you wanted to hear, I know. Get used to it, my friend. That’s business on the web. Actually, that’s just business, period.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Karri_Flatla&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Karri Flatla - EzineArticles Expert Author&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3444197142356995735-6808178229534936224?l=ultima-adsense.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/feeds/6808178229534936224/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3444197142356995735&amp;postID=6808178229534936224' title='1 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/6808178229534936224'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/6808178229534936224'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/how-much-will-it-cost-to-get-more.html' title='How Much Will it Cost to Get More Traffic to My Website?'/><author><name>A.Rahman</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/18160260965388558280</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='31' src='http://users.cjb.net/rahmaxman/my.jpg'/></author><thr:total>1</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3444197142356995735.post-2827950466056840634</id><published>2006-12-24T10:19:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2006-12-24T10:21:57.389-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='webmaster resources'/><title type='text'>Designing For Success- Ten steps for designing a site</title><content type='html'>Most of the designers start a Web site design, they usually begin by laying out the major functional blocks of the home page or by doing a color and graphic layout. Me also do that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But designing a site is just the same as building a house. Nothing else.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You must to define the necessities or requirements as completely as possible before you start the site layout design for your site.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why? Because if you don’t, you may have to throw away what you have done&lt;br /&gt;and start over.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is not a haphazard process. Like an software/web engineering. Very organized process. Not defining the requirements early can easily double the amount of work you&lt;br /&gt;have to do. Unfortunately, you don't get to increase your price to recompense for&lt;br /&gt;this. After all, it’s not the client's fault that you didn’t collect all of the supplies before you began. There are certain steps to follow whenever 24 you design a Web site. It doesn’t matter how big or how small the site is, the steps are always the same.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are some steps&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First, the big picture…&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1) Define the purpose of the site&lt;br /&gt;2) Identify your client’s target market&lt;br /&gt;3) Conduct a competition survey&lt;br /&gt;4) Define the features of the site&lt;br /&gt;5) Identify keywords&lt;br /&gt;6) Develop the wire frame&lt;br /&gt;7) Create the storyboard&lt;br /&gt;8) Build the prototype&lt;br /&gt;9) Complete the final design&lt;br /&gt;10) Deliver your work&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Source:&lt;br /&gt;The Webmaster Business Masters Course- By mark Frank&lt;br /&gt;Software Engineering (Part III)- by Roger S.Pressman&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3444197142356995735-2827950466056840634?l=ultima-adsense.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/feeds/2827950466056840634/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3444197142356995735&amp;postID=2827950466056840634' title='1 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/2827950466056840634'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/2827950466056840634'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/designing-for-success-ten-steps-for.html' title='Designing For Success- Ten steps for designing a site'/><author><name>A.Rahman</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/18160260965388558280</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='31' src='http://users.cjb.net/rahmaxman/my.jpg'/></author><thr:total>1</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3444197142356995735.post-6708077072849484013</id><published>2006-12-23T23:20:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2006-12-23T23:33:25.190-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='SEO'/><title type='text'>Top Ten SEO Tips</title><content type='html'>&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Top Ten SEO Tips&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;1.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Add keywords within the title tag so that search engine robots will know what your page is about. The title tag is located right at the top of your document within the &lt;i&gt;head&lt;/i&gt; tags. Inserting a keyword or key phrase will greatly get better your chances of bringing targeted traffic to your site. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;2.&lt;/b&gt; Use the same keywords as anchor text to link to the page from particular pages on your site. This is in particular useful if your site contains many pages. The more keywords that link to a specific page the better. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;3.&lt;/b&gt; Make sure that the text within the title tag is also within the body of the page. It is unwise to have keywords in the title tag which are not contained within the body of the page. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Adding the exact same text for your h1 tag will tell the reader who clicks on your page from a search engine result that they have clicked on the correct link and have arrived at the page where they intended to visit. Robots like this too because now there is a relation between the title of your page and the headline. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Also, sprinkle your keywords throughout your article. The most important keywords can be bolded or colored in red. A good place to do this is once or twice in the body at the top of your article and in the sub-headings. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;4.&lt;/b&gt; Do not use the exact same title tag on every page on your website. Search engine robots might determine that all your pages are the same if all your title tags are the same. If this happens, your pages might not get indexed. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;I always use the headline of my pages as the title tag to help the robots know exactly what my page is about. A good place to insert the headline is within the h1 tag. So the caption is the same as the title tag text. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;5.&lt;/b&gt; Do not spam the account or keyword meta tag by stuffing meaningless keywords or even spend too much time on this tag. SEO pros all agree that these tags are not as important today as they once were. I just place my headline once within the keywords and description tags. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;6.&lt;/b&gt; Do not link to link-farms or other search engine unfriendly neighborhoods. A good rule of thumb is if your pages do not contain any words that reflect the content of the site you are linking to, do not link to it. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;7.&lt;/b&gt; Do not use doorway pages. Doorway pages are designed for robots only, not humans. Search engines like to index human friendly pages which contain content which is relevant to the search. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;8.&lt;/b&gt; Title tags for text links. Insert the title tag within the HTML of your text link to add weight to the link and the page where the link resides. This is like the alt tag for images. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;My site contains navigation menus on the left and right of the page. The menu consists of links not images. The links are keywords. When you hover over the link with your mouse, the title of the link appears. View the source of this page to see how to add this tag to your links. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;9.&lt;/b&gt; Describe your images with the use of the alt tag. This will help search engines that index images to find your pages and will also help readers who use text only web browsers. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;10.&lt;/b&gt; Submit to the search engines yourself. Do not use submission service or submission software. Doing so could get your site penalized or even banned. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Here is the submission page for google: &lt;a href="http://www.google.com/addurl.html" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.google.com/addurl.html&lt;/a&gt; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Submit only once. There is no need to submit every two weeks. There is no need to submit more that one page.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;b style=""&gt;Source:&lt;/b&gt; http://www.ezau.com/latest/articles/0147.shtml&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3444197142356995735-6708077072849484013?l=ultima-adsense.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/feeds/6708077072849484013/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3444197142356995735&amp;postID=6708077072849484013' title='1 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/6708077072849484013'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3444197142356995735/posts/default/6708077072849484013'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ultima-adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/top-ten-seo-tips.html' title='Top Ten SEO Tips'/><author><name>A.Rahman</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/18160260965388558280</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='32' height='31' src='http://users.cjb.net/rahmaxman/my.jpg'/></author><thr:total>1</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3444197142356995735.post-5693974425546347533</id><published>2006-12-23T08:29:00.000-08:00</published><updated>2006-12-23T08:56:12.106-08:00</updated><category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Freelancing'/><title type='text'>Work at Home</title><content type='html'>The major saying of this post is very plain and directly. Here is a list of the most noteworthy ones from the lot with a description concerning each one.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; AllFeeds (&lt;a href="http://www.allfeeds.com/?action=publishers"&gt;http://www.allfeeds.com/?action=publishers&lt;/a&gt;) AllFeeds has a great pool of online advertisers to choose from. It also features many display formats that you can choose from. These include banners, buttons, XML feeds, DHTML pop-ups and so on. It also features real time reporting of your ad status. The site will mail a check every month, provided that you earn more then $25.00, while rolling over earnings for the next month if you don't. Another interesting thing about AllFeeds is that it integrates with Google AdSense, maximizing your earnings with AdSense.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; MarketBanker (&lt;a href="http://www.marketbanker.com/mb/sell.php"&gt;http://www.marketbanker.com/mb/sell.php&lt;/a&gt;) MarketBanker allows you the unique possiblity to set the pricing for your site. It also allows you to allow or reject any link that appears on your site (although AdSense itself does a very good job of this as well, with URL filters) There's also a statistics section which will allow you to see how well your site is doing. The ads are small just like AdSense's and they're just as easy to set up. Also, registration for MarketBanker is free.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; BidClix ( &lt;a href="http://www.bidclix.com/PubTop.html"&gt;http://www.bidclix.com/PubTop.html&lt;/a&gt;) BidClix is different because it has advertisers compete for clicks on your site, which in turn is meant to generate the highest possible profits for your page. It also has a very large pool of advertisers which ensure there are plenty of people to choose your site. However, it does require more polish on site contents then AdSense. As most sites, real time statistics are available and its very easy to get started with this service, but it's also very flexible.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Chitika (&lt;a href="http://www.realcontext.com/index.php?option=RealContext:+Contextual+Targeting+Engine"&gt;http://www.realcontext.com/index.php?option=RealContext:+Contextual+Targeting+Engine&lt;/a&gt;) RealContext uses Artificial intelligence to retrieve the most relevant ads for your page. And there's an extra feature which makes RealContext unique as well. Keywords are selected based upon which previous selections payed off and which didn't. That means there's a constant feedback process that ensures you gain better revenue from your ads. It also supports blocking certain adds and child-safe filtering and many more options.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; AdHearus (&lt;a href="http://adhearus.com/webmaster.php"&gt;http://adhearus.com/webmaster.php&lt;/a&gt;) AdHearus is a very feature-packed contextual ad provider. As with AdSense, advertisements are targeted but it doesn't stop here at all. The ads are very flexible, you can select from text-ads, banners, rectangles, pop-ups, pop-unders or skyscrapers. You can also display your own ads, through rotation, both on your site and on other affiliate sites, which makes AdHearus a hybrid with conventional advertising technologies. There's a very comprehensive on-line real time reporting feature and, as usual with such services, starting out is free and it's a breeze.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; AffiliateSensor (&lt;a href="http://www.affiliatesensor.com/"&gt;http://www.affiliatesensor.com/&lt;/a&gt;) AffiliateSensor has highly customizable ad blocks, which you can make for yourself with an easy to use on-line interface. You also get realtime reporting with clicks-by-domain, page and refferer. There's integration with Google AdSense as well, through the google_alternate_ad_url so AffiliateSensor can be used as a substitute for Google PSA's (Public Service Ads).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Kanoodle Bright Ads (&lt;a href="http://www.kanoodle.com/about/brightads.cool"&gt;http://www.kanoodle.com/about/brightads.cool&lt;/a&gt;) Kanoodle's offering allows publishers to get ads related to topics or segments, and not the traditional keyword oriented ads. The site also groups publisher sites with advertisers by hand to ensure high-revenue generating ads. And speaking of revenue, the amount of money you receive is a clear 50% share of the amount of money Kanoodle recieves for an advertiser.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; TargetPoint (&lt;a href="http://publisher.targetpoint.com/"&gt;http://publisher.targetpoint.com&lt;/a&gt;) TargetPoint is oriented more towards content publishers. It offers full control over the look the ads, statistics over your site's overall performance and better revenue. It's free to register and you earn a guaranteed 60% of the total revenue. You can get payed with Paypal of Bank checks and (most times) wire transfers as well.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Clicksor (&lt;a href="http://www.clicksor.com/"&gt;http://www.clicksor.com&lt;/a&gt;) Clicksor will earn you as much as 60% from the amount of money your website produces. What you get is about the same as AdSense, there are targeted text ads, you can view the revenues from your website in real time. You can receive money via PayPal or through a check every two weeks, provided that you have earned more then $50. If you haven't made that much, your earning roll over to the next period&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Bidvertiser (&lt;a href="http://www.bidvertiser.com/"&gt;http://www.bidvertiser.com/&lt;/a&gt;) Like AdSense, Bidvertiser displays text ads in your page. But the difference lies in the fact that advertisers bid over your advertising space, ensuring you earn as much revenue as you possibly can. This also means that bids will increase over time, earning you even more cash. You also get a great way to customize your ads with a very easy to use tool and detailed reports on your site's status.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Quigo AdSonar (&lt;a href="http://www.quigo.com/adsonarpublishers.htm"&gt;http://www.quigo.com/adsonarpublishers.htm&lt;/a&gt;) Quigo AdSonar achieves relevancy by placing a filter according to your site's categories. It also offers you on-line reports of your site's status and the possibility to add your own custom ads replacing ads that don't gain you any revenue. The setup is very simple, in a similar fashion to AdSense's and quite customizable as well.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Vibrant Media IntelliTXT (&lt;a href="http://www.intellitxt.com/site/web_01a.html"&gt;http://www.intellitxt.com/site/web_01a.html&lt;/a&gt;) Vibrant Media IntelliTXT offers user-activated ads, highlighting certain words within the content of the page and presenting relevant ads when a user hovers his mouse over them. It uses a pay-for-performance pricing scheme and can easily be used along with other advertising methods, because it is unobtrusive. It's very easy to implement and has a good payment policy as well.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; MIVA AdRevenue Xpress (&lt;a href="http://www.miva.com/us/content/partners/arx.asp"&gt;http://www.miva.com/us/content/partners/arx.asp&lt;/a&gt;) MIVA AdRevenue Xpress is targeted towards small and mid-sized publishers. In fact, the Sitemaps program provides a little peek inside Google's mind - and it can tell you a lot about what Google thinks of your website!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica; font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Why Should You Use Google Sitemaps?&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Until Google Sitemaps was released in the summer of 2005, optimizing a site for Google was a guessing game at best. A website's page might be deleted from the index, and the Webmaster had no idea why. Alternatively, a site's content could be scanned, but because of the peculiarities of the algorithm, the only pages that would rank well might be the "About Us" page, or the company's press releases.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; As webmasters we were at the whim of Googlebot, the seemingly arbitrary algorithmic kingmaker that could make or break a website overnight through shifts in search engine positioning. There was no way to communicate with Google about a website - either to understand what was wrong with it, or to tell Google when something had been updated.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; That all changed about a year ago when Google released Sitemaps, but the program really became useful in February of 2006 when Google updated it with a couple new tools.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; So, what exactly is the Google Sitemaps program, and how can you use it to improve the position of your website? Well, there are essentially two reasons to use Google Sitemaps:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;b&gt;1.&lt;/b&gt; Sitemaps provide you with a way to tell Google valuable information about your website.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;b&gt;2.&lt;/b&gt; You can use Sitemaps to learn what Google thinks about your website.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica; font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;What You Can Tell Google About Your Site&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Believe it or not, Google is concerned about making sure webmasters have a way of communicating information that is important about their sites. Although Googlebot does a pretty decent job of finding and cataloging web pages, it has very little ability to rate the relative importance of one page versus another. After all, many important pages on the Internet are not properly "optimized", and many of the people who couldn't care less about spending their time on linking campaigns create some of the best content.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Therefore, Google gives you the ability to tell them on a scale of 0.0 to 1.0 how important a given page is relative to all the others. Using this system, you might tell Google that your home page is a 1.0, each of your product sections is a 0.8, and each of your individual product pages is a 0.5. Pages like your company's address and contact information might only rate a 0.2.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; You can also tell Google how often your pages are updated and the date that each page was last modified. For example your home page might be updated every day, while a particular product page might only be updated on an annual basis.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica; font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;What Google Can Tell You About Your Site&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Having the ability to tell Google all this information is important, but you don't even need to create a sitemap file in order to enjoy some of the perks of having a Google Sitemaps account.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; That's because even without a Sitemap file, you can still learn about any errors that Googlebot has found on your website. As you probably know, your site doesn't have to be "broken" for a robot to have trouble crawling it's pages. Google Sitemaps will tell you about pages it was unable to crawl and links it was unable to follow. Therefore, you can see where these problems are and fix them before your pages get deleted from the index.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; You can also get information on the types of searches people are using to find your website. Of course, most website analytics tools will give this information to you anyway, but if the tool you use doesn't have this feature, then it's always nice to get it for free from Google.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; But the best part of the Sitemaps program is the Page analysis section that was added in February of 2006. This page gives you two lists of words. The first list contains the words that Googlebot associates with your website based on content on your site. The second list contains words that Googlebot has found linking to your site!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Unfortunately, Google limits the number of words in each list to 20. As a consequence, the inbound links column is partly wasted by words such as "http", "www", and "com" - terms that apply equally to all websites (hey Google, how about suppressing those terms from the report?). That said, this list does provide you with a way to judge the effectiveness of your offsite optimization efforts.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; When you compare these two lists, you can get an understanding of what Google thinks your website is about. If the words on your Site Content column are not really what you want Googlebot to think about your site, then you know you need to tweak your website's copy to make it more focused on your core competency.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; If, on the other hand your inbound links don't contain any keywords that you want to rank well for, then perhaps you should focus your efforts in that direction.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Above all else, you really want these two lists to agree. You want your inbound linked words to match up to the site content words. This means that Google has a clear understanding of the focus of your website.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica; font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Additional Benefits of the Sitemaps Program&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Google has even started notifying Sitemaps-participating Webmasters if they are breaking any of Google's Webmaster Guidelines. This can be very valuable information if your site suddenly becomes de-listed on Google and you don't know why.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Only Sitemaps participants can get this information, and it is only provided at Google's discretion. In fact, Google will NOT notify you if you are creating worthless websites that offer no original content, or if you are creating thousands of doorway pages that are redirecting to other web sites. Google doesn't want to give the sp@ammers any clues as to how to improve their techniques.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica; font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;How Do You Get Started with Google Site Maps?&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; The first thing you must do is obtain a Google Account. If you already have a Gmail, Adsense, or Adwords account, then you are all set. If not, you can register an account by visiting the &lt;a href="https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount"&gt;Google Accounts page&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Building your sitemap file is pretty easy to do if you are familiar with XML, and if you aren't you can always use a third-party tool such as the ones that are &lt;a href="http://code.google.com/sm_thirdparty.html"&gt;listed on Google's website&lt;/a&gt;. Google also has a "Sitemap Generator" that you can download and install on your server, but unless you are fairly adept at managing Python scripts, you should probably stick to the third-party tools.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; At any rate, once you have your Google Account and your Sitemap file built, the rest is very easy. All you have to do is:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;b&gt;1.&lt;/b&gt; &lt;a href="http://google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/siteoverview"&gt;Log into your account&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;b&gt;2.&lt;/b&gt; Type your website's URL into the "Add Site" box and click on "OK" &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;b&gt;3.&lt;/b&gt; Click on the Manage Sites link for the website you are adding, and add your sitemap file to your account.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; &lt;span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica; font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Google Sitemaps - An Excellent SEO Tool&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Google Sitemaps help Googlebot quickly find new content on your website. They allow you to tell Google what's important, what's new, and what changes often. The tools provided to webmasters through the program can play a vital role in helping you understand how the search engines (especially Google) view your website.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; Using this information you can dramatically improve the position of your website and quickly clear up any issues Google finds. You can also use the tools provided by Google to gauge the effectiveness of your off-site optimization efforts so you can better focus your time and energy on activities that bring you the most success.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;About the author:&lt;/strong&gt; Matthew Coers is an Internet marketing expert.
